The History of Deemah Stone
Founded by Mr Raymond Bechara in Sydney, Australia in 1985, the company started as Deemah Tiles. Having rapidly expanded in the stone industry in Australia, the company fused to become Deemah Marble & Granite in 1987. Becoming an Australian leader and accumulating a network of industry contacts, suppliers and high profile clientele, international expansion was then in the works. With the vision and foresight of Mr Bechara, the transition into global markets was the most ideal way to pin the Deemah Stone name on the world map—providing a wealth of experience, unbeatable quality and access to the market’s finest resources.
The first global operation was the establishment in South-East Asia, with a Singapore office planted in the region in 1992. Comprised of talents across Project Management, Estimating, Supervisory and Support departments, the Singapore office opened doors of opportunity in the region.
Together with the founders of Original Stone Pty Ltd, Mr and Mrs Elias and Rhonda Melhem, the two companies merged to become Deemah Stone Pty Ltd in Australia. Delivering projects for both residential and commercial developments, another international operation was instigated. In 2007, Deemah Stone LLC was established in the United Arab Emirates.
A decade of success in the highly coveted UAE region has fostered the company’s progress in global markets, having undergone some of the most iconic landmarks within the region.

Through building on a portfolio of internal and external stonework, Deemah Stone positioned itself at the top of the industry hierarchy which paved the way for a second Middle Eastern office.
The founding of Deemah Stone WLL was then established in Qatar in 20. Boasting innovation, providing the full scope of stonework and priding itself on a reputation of exceeding expectations, the Qatar operation has yet again been another success story for Deemah Stone. Having risen above commercial challenges, over the past three decades, the company’s dynamic ability to evolve with trends, be above market and consumer preferences and deliver remarkable outcomes has been a testament to their prosperity.
